Gail Y. Cosgrove is a partner in the law firm of Goodsill Anderson Quinn & Stifel. Her work involves civil litigation, primarily medical liability, complex litigation, product liability and toxic tort litigation. Ms. Cosgrove is a Lecturer-in-Law for the William S. Richardson School of Law where she has taught Pretrial Litigation to second and third year law students. Significant cases include representation of a 26 year old paraplegic in a product liability lawsuit against a seatbelt manufacturer. After a six week jury trial, the jury return a verdict of $19 million, including $12.5 million in punitive damages, which the defendant described as "record-setting." Ms. Cosgrove also represented a building products manufacturer in a property damage lawsuit filed by the State of Hawaii which included 250 public buildings, over 11 million documents producted in discovery and hundreds of expert and fact witness depositions. The Attorney General's office described the case as the largest, most complex case ever filed in Hawaii.
