Kevin S.W. Chee

Attorney Kevin S.W. Chee, a native of Hawaii, is a partner in and founding member of the highly respected Honolulu law firm of Chee Markham Kato and Kim. Since the establishment of the firm, Mr. Chee has focused his efforts on assisting clients from throughout the Hawaiian Islands who have legal needs in the following areas:

Mr. Chee began practicing law in California in 1977 after earning his law degree from University of California Berkeley School of Law and his admission to The State Bar of California. In 1978, he returned to Hawaii, and he has since focused his career on assisting Hawaii's businesses, corporations and professionals. His approvals to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Hawaii, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court allow him to assist clients in various jurisdictions.

Over the course of his career spanning nearly four decades, Mr. Chee has earned the respect of both his clients and his peers, along with a number of honors. He has a "Very Good" rating from Avvo, and he has received a Distinguished peer-review rating* from Martindale-Hubbell. In addition, Honolulu magazine named him one of Hawaii's top insurance litigation attorneys in 2016.

Attorney Chee is not only active in the courtroom but also in the legal community. He is a member of numerous associations, including the American Bar Association, the Hawaii Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Hawaii State Bar Association.
