Making consequential waves within his legal community in a relatively short period of time, Colby Jones has cemented his reputation as a staunch, judicious advocate for his clients through his pristine, client-centric practice. The owner of Jones Law Partners in Boise, Idaho, he is well-equipped to handle all aspects of family law, including divorce and separation, and child custody and support. Furthermore, he is a proponent of using alternative dispute resolution methods, such as mediation, to allow his clients to make their own decisions and compromises with the opposing party, without interjection from the judiciary.
Mr. Jones completed his undergraduate studies cum laude in 2008, graduating with his Bachelor of Arts degree in social science studies from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He later enrolled in the Mitchell Hamline School of Law, where his shrewd legal acumen and talents came to the fore through his active involvement with myriad student organizations, including the Civil and Human Rights Legal Society, the Family Law and Child Advocacy Organization, and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Society – the latter organization of which he served as vice president.
After receiving his Juris Doctor in 2018, Mr. Jones obtained his license to practice law in Idaho the same year. Not content with the expansive legal knowledge he accrued during his time in law school, he attended the Pepperdine University Law School, where he earned his Master of Laws degree in dispute resolution in 2021. A consummate professional through and through, he empathizes with his clients’ plights, and works relentlessly to help them achieve the amicable resolution they deserve.
Outside his law practice, Mr. Jones maintains close affiliations with many prominent legal organizations, including the American Bar Association, the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association, the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, and the Idaho Mediation Association. At the Idaho State Bar, he is a member of the Family Law Section and chairperson of the Dispute Resolution Section. For his many contributions, he has been rated “Superb” on Avvo and hosts many positive client testimonials on the site as well.
