He was also able to obtain a $10 million jury verdict, including punitive damages, against a life insurance company in a case that involved bad faith and fraudulent sales. His achievements in the courtroom have made him a desirable lecturer within his professional community. Seminar subjects that he has presented include how to recognize insurance bad faith, juror psychology, consumer law, punitive damages for corporate misconduct, medical malpractice and opening and closing statements. As an undergraduate, Mr. Pedersen attended Brigham Young University and received a Bachelor of Arts in 1969. He then pursued his legal education at the University of Idaho College of Law and was awarded his Juris Doctor in 1972. Mr. Pedersen is admitted to practice before all Idaho state courts. He has received a certificate of specialization in civil trial law from the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association.
