    Attorney Profile

Attorney James Spiros is the founding partner of Spiros Law, P.C., which has office locations in Kankakee, Champaign and Danville, Illinois. Widely regarded as one of the top trial attorneys in his region, Mr. Spiros devotes his practice to advocating on behalf of clients throughout downstate Illinois who have suffered injuries or lost loved ones as a result of someone else's negligence or wrongdoing.

Over the course of his more than 25 years practicing law, Mr. Spiros has achieved considerable success fighting for the rights and entitlements of those adversely affected by medical negligence, defective drugs and devices, motor vehicle and commercial trucking accidents, workplace injuries, nursing home abuse, wrongful death and other preventable tragedies. Among his most notable successes, he helped secure a verdict of more than $9.8 million for an injured minor, which stands as the second largest verdict ever awarded in Vermilion County.

Mr. Spiros has also secured many other multimillion-dollar verdicts and settlements on behalf of his plaintiff clients, and he finds great reward in being able to offer invaluable representation to those who would otherwise have no legal recourse for their unfortunate situations. Honored for his success, he has earned a membership in the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, and he has received many other awards and honors for his professionalism and service.

Each year since 2003, Mr. Spiros has received designation from the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin as a Leading Lawyer in the state, and he has served on the organization's advisory board since 2019. He has also earned perennial designation as a top attorney from other peer review sources during his career, and he has received "Superb, 10 out of 10" client ratings on Avvo.

A leader in his field, Mr. Spiros has served on the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association's Board of Managers as well as the organization's Medical Negligence Committee. He is also an active member of the American Trial Lawyers Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, and the Vermilion County and Kankakee County Bar Associations. He also has several publications to his credit, and he has conducted lectures and continuing legal education seminars across his region.

A 1990 graduate of Purdue University, Mr. Spiros obtained his Juris Doctor in 1994 from The John Marshall Law School, and he supports his local community as well through his involvement with various civic and charitable organizations in his area.
