A. Marcy Newman

As an attorney at the Law Offices of A. Marcy Newman, Ms. Newman is dedicated to serving clients in Chicago, Illinois. She focuses her practice on family law, generally handling cases that involve the following matters: child custody, child support, property distribution, legal separations, post-decree or decree issues, maintenance issues, visitation, prenuptial agreements, child custody or support modifications and compliance with marital settlements.

Ms. Newman earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She then went on to receive a Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University School of Law.

With more than 37 years of experience, Ms. Newman understands the unique challenges of family law cases. For that reason, she strives to help her clients and their families reach amicable resolutions that address both their immediate and their long-term needs. When the other side will not budge, Ms. Newman will aggressively fight to ensure her clients' rights are upheld. She has successfully represented clients in matters before the Illinois Supreme Court as well as before the Illinois Appellate Court. Ms. Newman is admitted to practice law in the states of Illinois and Ohio. Her commitment to providing her clients with quality representation led Ms. Newman to be named as a Top Attorney in Illinois by Chicago Magazine.

Beyond her work in the courtroom, Ms. Newman is an active member of the legal community. She is a member of the American Bar Association, The Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association and the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Ms. Newman is currently serving as an officer of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers – Illinois Chapter.
