Aurora Abella-Austriaco concentrates her practice in the areas of commercial litigation, real estate and construction litigation, mechanic's liens, defense of mortgage foreclosure, title insurance claims litigation, business litigation, real estate transactions  and other special chancery remedy cases. With over 33 years of experience representing Fortune 500 companies, title insurance companies, hospitals, hotel and restaurant owners, medical lab testing companies, business owners and individuals. Aurora is a big advocate of giving back to the community, by providing pro bono legal services to the underserved and by getting involved in the legal community. Aurora is past President of the Chicago Bar Association and is the first Asian American elected to that post. Aurora is also past President of the National Conference of Bar Presidents, past President of Illinois Real Estate Lawyers Association and past President of Lawyers Trust Fund of Illinois.  Aurora was named one of  CDLB Salute! Women in Law Awardee and named one of "100 Women of Influence" in 2013 by Today's Chicago Woman.  She is a recipient of the CBA Alliance for Women Alta Mae Hulett Award, recipient of the CBA Vanguard Award,  recipient of the CLEO Award; recipient of the "10 Outstanding Filipino Businessmen" by Philippine Chamber of Commerce; and recipient of the GPSolo Difference Makers award.

She currently serves as a Commissioner to the Illinois Courts Commission and as Judge of the Illinois Court of Claims.  She served as an  elected school board Member of Maine Township District 207. She currently serves on the Board of Governors of the American Bar Association.   She served as Past President of the  Maine South Hawkettes Booster Board, and the Asian American Institute n/k/a Asian Americans Advancing Justice.  She served as a Commissioner for the Park Ridge Planning and Zoning Commission as well as Commissioner for the Cook County Human Rights Commission. She is a fellow of Leadership Greater Chicago, a member of the Economic Club and an Edgars Fellow. 

Aurora was appointed by Chief Judge Rebecca Pallmeyer to serve on the First Racial Justice Diversity Committee of the Northern District of Illinois and served as Chair of the DePaul University College of Law Diversity Council.
