Brien J. DiNella

An associate attorney at Ankin Law, Brien J. DiNella serves clients and helps them in resolving matters of workers’ compensation. Focusing his practice on Chicago and the surrounding areas, he has dedicated his career to advocating for workers who have been injured or those who have been denied their benefits or special claims by their employers.

Mr. DiNella was born and raised in the northern suburbs of Chicago, where early life lessons in hard work and fairness were instilled by his father, a dedicated restaurant industry professional. His father's commitment to customer satisfaction and his grandfather’s role as a union steward deeply influenced him. These childhood experiences, discussing the challenges faced by workers and the importance of advocating for their rights, shaped Mr. DiNella’s values and career path.

Understanding the plight of the working class and the challenges they face in their workplace, Mr. DiNella is committed to working toward their benefit and serving his purpose. Garnering inspiration from his personal life and those around him, he dedicates his full efforts to representing his clients and prioritizing their needs. 

Completing his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and American history from St. Norbert College, Wisconsin, Mr. DiNella went on to complete his doctorate in jurisprudence from John Marshall Law School in 2016. He commenced his journey with workers’ compensation when he clerked for a firm while attending law school. This role not only provided him with practical experience but also reinforced his desire to support injured workers. He is actively involved in the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission and the Illinois State Bar Association.
