Cambi L. Cann

Cambi L. Cann is the founder of her eponymous professional corporation. Her firm is based in Chicago, Illinois, and she represents people and businesses throughout the greater metropolitan area and other parts of the state. Ms. Cann formed her own firm in August 2013, and she has been admitted to practice before all Illinois state courts since 2005.

As an undergraduate, Ms. Cann attended Purdue University and received a Bachelor of Science in 2001. She then went on to pursue her legal studies at the John Marshall Law School, which is now part of the University of Illinois at Chicago and known as the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law. After being awarded her Juris Doctor in 2005, Ms. Cann was associated with area law firms, and she handled complex and sophisticated residential and commercial real estate transactions until going out on her own.

Ms. Cann continues to focus a significant portion of her practice on real estate matters. Her experience in this regard has encompassed purchases and sales, condominium conversions, like-kind exchanges governed by Section 1031 of the Internal Revenue Code, and institutional financing sourcing and closings for such properties as shopping centers and office buildings. Along the way, Ms. Cann has prepared and reviewed numerous complex lease and other agreements. She has also worked on business matters, including mergers and acquisitions, compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, and the formation of new business ventures. When disputes arise, Ms. Cann has represented her clients in court and in mediation sessions as well as before panels of arbitrators. Her professional affiliations include the Illinois State Bar Association.
