Carl E. Volz

The founder of Pontem Law, LLC, in Chicago, Illinois, Carl E. Volz serves clients in Chicagoland metro and throughout the U.S. His practice area is focused on:

Completing his undergraduate degree in political science and journalism from Ohio University in 1992, Mr. Volz went on to study law at the Chicago-Kent College of Law at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Earning with his Juris Doctor in 1995, he was licensed to practice the same year in Illinois. After graduating from law school, he worked as an executive officer for the chief judge in the Circuit Court of Cook County. 

Mr. Volz aims to help individuals and startup businesses avoid or resolve disputes before it reaches the courtroom. He also represents clients in lawsuits, internal investigations and government inquiries at an affordable price. Having prior experience in complex corporate governance and class action lawsuits, he has honed his legal acumen over the years. After spending more than a decade defending large organizations as part of the Big Law, he decided to start his own firm to help growing companies identify and prevent complicated legal disputes.

A licensed practitioner for more than 25 years, Mr. Volz is an understanding and knowledgeable attorney. Fluent in Spanish and English, he serves a diverse clientele as a business counselor and an omnivorous litigator, offering fractional general counsel, interstitial advocacy, practical litigation representation and resolution assistance.
