Business attorney David C. McLauchlan is the managing partner of The McLauchlan Law Group LLC, in Chicago, Illinois, and Houston, Texas. He serves clients in both locations from his office in Chicago, assisting them with legal issues, such as:

With more than 30 years of experience as a legal practitioner, Mr. McLauchlan has handled several trial cases before state and federal courts across the United States. A certified arbitrator by ARIAS•U.S., he has served as an appellate and lead trial counsel in many private arbitrations. He is also certified in mediation by the Northwestern University and finished the advanced mediator training by the CPR International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution. He frequently helps several large and small businesses with various aspects of the law, including mergers and acquisitions, business dispute resolutions and business formations.

Mr. McLauchlan obtained a bachelor’s degree in political science and psychology from Bradley University in 1969, and later, he went on to earn his law degree from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1972. While there, he served as the notes and comments editor of the University of Illinois Law Review and was a member of the University of Illinois National Moot Court Team. 

Licensed to practice in Illinois since 1972, Mr. McLauchlan’s other bar admissions include the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Illinois. He is also allowed to appear before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the United States Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit.
