He has also served as counsel on matters involving ERISA, wage and fringe bond litigation, bankruptcy and related proceedings, and more.

    A 1970 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, he received his Master of Business Administration from Loyola University in 1973, and he obtained his Juris Doctor from Chicago Kent College of Law in 1977. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the Northern District of Indiana as well as before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.

    He is an active member of the Chicago and Illinois State Bar Associations, and he is the former assistant director of the Building and Construction Employers Association. He also serves as chairman of the First Suburban National Bank, and he has served as special assistant attorney general with the Illinois Department of Labor and the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority as well as counsel to the Illinois Department of Public Aid.
