In addition to plaintiff representation, he also defends the rights and interests of physicians, lawyers and other licensed professionals accused of unscrupulous or unlawful practices, and he has achieved remarkable success helping his clients find the favorable outcomes they seek as efficiently and cost-effectively as possible.

To that end, Mr. Katz is well-versed in arbitration, mediation and other alternative dispute resolution techniques, and he has recovered millions of dollars in settlements and verdicts for his clients both inside and outside the courtroom. Among his most notable successes, he helped mediate a settlement for a company in Wisconsin facing $10 million in claims involving patent prosecutions, and he has substantially reduced the damages his defendant clients were forced to pay involving a host of disputes.

He has also served as first chair in a number of trials, where he was successful at obtaining favorable summary judgments and jury verdicts involving millions of dollars in awards. Honored for his outstanding professionalism and service, Mr. Katz has earned an AV-Preeminent peer review rating* from Martindale-Hubbell along with a Leading Lawyer designation and many other top rankings and endorsements from his peers.

A 2000 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Mr. Katz obtained his Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 2004. He holds his license to practice in Wisconsin as well as Illinois, and he is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois, the Western and Eastern Districts of Wisconsin, and the Northern District of Indiana.

Moreover, he also holds his admission to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th and 7th Circuits, the U.S. Supreme Court, and pro hac vice admission to practice in Texas, Ohio, Michigan and the District of Columbia.

Mr. Katz has numerous publications to his credit, and he has conducted lectures and continuing legal education seminars across the country on a variety of legal topics. He is also the founding chair of the American Association for Justice Professional Liability Litigation Group and former chair of the Chicago Bar Association's Young Lawyers Section Professional Responsibility Committee. He is also a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice.
