Attorney Profile

A partner at Goldberg & Schulkin Law Offices, Jeffrey A. Schulkin devotes his practice entirely to the pursuit of justice for people who have been harmed as a result of the negligence of other parties. Based in Chicago, the firm also has an office in Milwaukee, and Mr. Schulkin represents clients throughout Illinois and Wisconsin.

A substantial portion of Mr. Schulkin’s caseload is centered on medical malpractice. The types of claims that he has pursued in this area of the law have included birth injuries, diagnostic mistakes or delays, surgical errors, medication mistakes, and emergency room and other forms of hospital negligence. During his career, Mr. Schulkin has obtained many millions of dollars in compensation for victims and their family members of those types of incidents, including a multi-million result for a client who had suffered a series of strokes that were not properly diagnosed or treated by emergency room medical personnel, in a case that was previously rejected by two other attorneys.

Mr. Schulkin’s personal injury and wrongful death litigation experience has extended beyond medical malpractice. He has worked on cases involving defective products, truck and other motor vehicle crashes, and workplace accidents including construction sites. Here as well, his clients have benefited from his skills in presenting their claims to juries as well as his tenacity when negotiating settlements with defendants and their insurance companies. Mr. Schulkin’s colleagues have recognized his successful track record, and they have presented him with an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell along with several other awards and honors. He is admitted to practice in Illinois and Wisconsin as well as before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

*AV®, AV Preeminent®, Martindale-Hubbell Distinguished and Martindale-Hubbell Notable are certification marks used under license in accordance with the Martindale-Hubbell certification procedures, standards and policies. Martindale-Hubbell® is the facilitator of a peer review rating process. Ratings reflect the anonymous opinions of members of the bar and the judiciary. Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review Rating™ fall into two categories – legal ability and general ethical standards.

  • “A bull dog with a dynamic personality. A hard worker and a great father.”
  • “I have had cases against Mr. Shulkin for over ten years. He has always shown the highest degree of care towards his clients' cases, the courts and the profession. In that time, I have become aware of his reputation among his peers, which is outstanding and without blemish. He would be an excellent addition to the Super Lawyers group. I would not hesitate to recommend him to friends or family.”
  • “Jeff is a former co-worker on the insurance defense side, and more recently has been an adversary on a large case since he switched to the plaintiff side. He is always thoroughly prepared, has a personable but detailed style which impacts very favorably on juries and, above all, he is very fair and honest as an adversary.”
  • “Mr. Schulkin is an excellent attorney. His hard work and dedication are shown through the excellent results he gets for his clients.”
