Jeffrey M. Alter is a partner at Anesi, Ozmon, Rodin, Novak & Kohen, Ltd., in Chicago, Illinois. He has over 20 years of experience and represents clients including blue-collar workers and union members throughout the Chicago metropolitan area.
Securing considerable sums for injured workers over his career, Mr. Alter has been involved in many noteworthy cases. He is a highly qualified trial attorney and a seasoned negotiator with experience at the trial and appellate levels. Highly knowledgeable in workers’ compensation law, he is the author of two chapters in the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association’s workers’ compensation handbook.
Active in professional organizations, Mr. Alter is a former committee chairman for the Chicago Bar Association Workers’ Compensation Committee. He has also spoken at seminars held by the Chicago Bar Association and the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association. He continues to maintain membership in both organizations, as well as in the American Association for Justice and the Workers’ Compensation Lawyers Association.
Mr. Alter graduated with honors from Loyola University Chicago with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He earned his law degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. While still a law student, he served as a law clerk with Anesi, Ozmon, Rodin, Novak & Kohen, Ltd. Upon graduating, passing the Illinois bar examination and becoming a lawyer, he returned to the firm as an associate and worked his way up to partner. He holds licenses to practice law before all Illinois state courts and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
