REPRESENTATIVE CASES

$7,000,000  - Jeremy achieved a settlement during jury selection on behalf of his 18 month old client was injured by a Pace – SCR Medical Transport vehicle.  There was no contact between the vehicles and the transportation company denied their vehicle was involved in the accident, but Jeremy was able to secure GPS documentation and independent witness testimony which confirmed the location of the at fault vehicle.   The settlement was featured on the front page of the Chicago Law Bulletin. 

$7,000,000 – Jeremy represented a young boy was on his way to his grandmothers house for a picnic when he was struck by a truck that had been stolen from the Central Steel & Wire parking lot in Chicago.   Jeremy filed a lawsuit against the Central Steel and Wire Company and the owner of the truck, Ruan Trucking, and a security company for their failure to properly protect the vehicle in the lot.  After taking more than 30 depositions of employees and various security and police personnel, Jeremy was able to prove that the keys to the truck had been left in the ignition of the vehicle in a noted high crime area.   The case settled the morning that jury selection was set to begin and the settlement was featured in the Chicago Law Bulletin.

CONFIDENTIAL SETTLEMENT on behalf of a 13 year old boy that died when in an open field in Palatine, Illinois. The boy had Muscular Dystrophy and was confined to a wheelchair and was operating his wheelchair through the open field when the wheelchair tipped causing injury and ultimate death to the boy. After taking more than 30 depositions of Village Employees and a local Landscaping Company, Jeremy was able to establish that the Village and Lawn Company were negligent in their mowing and maintenance of the lawn.

$1,910,000 – settlement on behalf of construction worker who fell off a ladder while attempting to disconnect chains from a tanker car.   Jeremy filed suit against the Crane Company and Excavator company and General Contractor and was able to prove that they were negligent in the operation of their equipment and their failure to provide a safe worksite in violation of OSHA and construction industry standards. 

$1,500,000  - settlement on behalf of a client who was severely injured when a fight broke out at a local concert venue. There were no eye witnesses to the fight, but through tireless investigations and detailed preparations, Jeremy was able to demonstrate that the concert venue was negligent in the security and achieved a significant settlement for his client.

$1,250,000 – settlement on behalf of construction worker and roofing employee injured on job site.  

$1,220,000  - settlement on behalf a brother and sister who were injured in a car accident with a construction truck on a country road. The clients suffered a head injury with memory loss and a herniated disc that required surgery. The case proceeded in Will County.  

$1,122,747 – verdict on behalf of a construction worker who suffered a torn rotator cuff in a car accident.   Client treated for 7 months and then was released back to work full duty.   The Defendants failed to offer any money, and then attempted to tender their insurance policy limits during jury selection.  The offer was rejected and Jeremy received a Bad Faith Verdict which was more than 50 times the insurance company’s last offer on the case. 

$1,000,000 - FELA railroad settlement on behalf of a Metra Carman who was injured while pulling a tarp on the job. In this FELA case, the Carman injured his lower back and required a disc replacement surgery. Metra denied any liability and denied that the worker was injured. Metra failed to offer any money for 3 years the case was prepared for trial.  Metra offered $1,000,000.00 to settle the case just before jury selection. 

$1,000,000 – FELA railroad settlement client who was seriously injured in a train derailment involving a Canadian National Railroad train. The client was an independent contractor who was hired to clean up the jobsite. While performing his job duties, the client slipped and fell on an exposed rod which caused severe internal injuries. Jeremy took more than 20 depositions on the case and was able to prove that the Environmental Company was responsible for the injuries.

$1,100,000 - settlement for a mason construction worker injured when a concrete wall fell resulting in a torn meniscus and  rotator cuff injuries. Jeremy was able to establish that the General Contractor should have had additional fall protection and additional support for the wall. The case proceeded in Kane County

$986,000.00  - verdict on behalf of a janitor who was hit by an on duty Chicago Police Officer. The janitor had just finished work and was pulling out of a parking lot when he was struck by a Chicago Squad Car. The janitor suffered injuries to his low back and required a fusion surgery. The City of Chicago argued that because the janitor was blind in his right eye, that the accident was his fault and they never offered a penny. Jeremy took the case to trial for a $986,000.00 verdict which was paid by the City. The case was on the front page of the Chicago Law Bulletin.

Jeremy graduated from the University of Wisconsin where he earned a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in Communication Arts.  He graduated from the John Marshall Law School where he was president of the Decalogue Society and a Representative with the Sports Law Society.  Jeremy served on the Board of Directors of the John Marshall Law School Alumni Association.   Jeremy was President of the Illinois Council on Problem Gambling where he was instrumental in securing a monetary grant for the Councils’ funding of statewide programs.  Jeremy lives in the Chicago area with his wife, Stacy and three children.

  • Jeremy secured a $7,000,000.00 settlement on behalf of his 18 month client who suffered a liver injury in a car accident.  The child was a passenger in a vehicle driven by her mother, but was not secured in a child car seat.   The vehicle was cut off by a Pace Bus van, yet there was no contact and plaintiff lost control and crashed into a cement median.  The Pace Bus van did not stop and vigorously denied that they were involved in any accident.   The case settled 2 days before trial was set to begin and was featured on the front page of the Chicago Law Bulletin. , 2019
  • $730,000 - settlement on behalf of a truck driver who was injured when a load of metal beams became dislodged on his truck and struck driver causing a fractured leg.   The accident occurred in Tennessee and Jeremy was admitted pro hac vice to Tennessee Courts to prosecute the case on behalf of his injured client. , 2020

Client was connecting chains from a gas tanker to a John Deere Excavator so the tanker could be lifted and placed in the ground. Client suffered a fractured calcaneus bone and rotator cuff injury and required surgery., 2018
  • $1,539,000 - settlement of seriously injured client at premises chicago area corporation, 2015
  • $1,300,000 - Jeremy obtained this significant settlement for family of client that was rear-ended on Interstate 80.   Client was 79 year old and was a passenger and struck her head on interor of her car and suffered a subdural hematoma and required a lengthy hospitalization until she unfortunately died as a result of her injuries.   Defendant was traveling nurse and the insurance company tried to deny that she was working at the time.   Jeremy and his firm were able to prove that the nurse was driving the vehicle as part of her job duties and was working when the accident occurred.    , 2017
  • $1,250,000 - settlement for a union roofer who was injured in a construction site accident when a mechanical hoist malfuctioned.  200 pounds of roofing materials fell on worker causing a broken neck and ankle.   Jeremy was able to prove negligence against the General Contractor, Power Construction and the manufacturer of the hoist and the company that rented the hoist.  Client returned to work within 6 months of the accident.   , 2017
  • $1,122,478 - Jeremy Geller received this verdict on behalf of his 54 year old client who was injured when another driver crossed over the center line and struck the client head on.
