Jonathan Bedi

Jonathan Bedi is a partner at the law firm Bedi & Singer, LLP, located in Chicago, Illinois. He focuses his practice on matters involving criminal defense and white collar crimes, and in state and federal criminal cases involving everything from murder and mortgage fraud to drug trafficking and racketeering, he has defended clients.

Mr. Bedi has a significant amount of experience in getting favorable decisions from judges and juries. Jonathan vigorously constructs a defense to suit the requirements of each unique client, acting as a strong and forceful advocate for them. In internal investigations involving charges of misconduct ranging from financial fraud to sexual harassment, he has defended athletes, businesspeople, religious leaders and students.

Additionally, Mr. Bedi has successfully defended people who are the target of misbehavior accusations in the #metoo era, assisting clients in avoiding public exposure and legal troubles. He is authorized to practice law in Illinois, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Illinois, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Mr. Bedi regularly speaks at continuing legal education seminars on several topics, including pretrial motions, trial advocacy and the jury trial’s role. He teaches trial advocacy at the Notre Dame University College of Law and has memberships in the Chicago Inn of Court, the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Northern District of Illinois Trial Bar.

With a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and government, Mr. Bedi graduated from Loyola University Chicago. He pursued his legal studies at the American University Washington College of Law and earned his Juris Doctor in 2005. In law school, he was a participant in moot court competitions, a member of the Community and Economic Development Law Clinic, and a fellow of Marshall-Brennan.
