An attorney with more than four decades of experience, Joy M. Feinberg is a partner at Davis Friedman LLP, in Chicago, Illinois, where she focuses her practice on particularly complex issues involving business owners; high level executives or their spouses and child-related matters including international child abduction cases under the Hague Convention on the Prevention of Child Abduction.  Ms. Feinberg has substantial experience with the financial aspects of divorce, particularly business valuation, executive compensation, pension and tax issues. She frequently writes and lectures on these and other divorce and family law topics for legal publications and organizations at a national and international level.   She serves clients throughout the Chicago metropolitan area.

The American College of Family Trial Lawyers named Ms. Feinberg one of the “top 100” family law trial attorneys in the United States. The American Institute of Family Law Attorneys named her one of the “10 best” in client satisfaction. The American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers named her fellow of the year on two occasions, and she has been featured in the publication The Best Lawyers in America.

Over the years, Ms. Feinberg has served in leadership positions for the Illinois State Bar Association, the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the International Academy of Family Lawyers and the Mediation Council of Illinois. She continues to serve on the Advocate editorial board of the American Bar Association’s Family Law Section and is the founder of Women Empowering Women, a training program for female divorce attorneys.

Ms. Feinberg earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois and received her law degree from DePaul University College of Law. She holds a license to practice law before all Illinois state courts and in the Federal District Courts in Illinois.
