Juanita B. Rodriguez

Juanita B. Rodriguez, an experienced Illinois attorney since 2005, is the founder of JBR Law Group LLC — a business and management-side employment law firm located in Chicago, Illinois. She is a trusted advisor to C-suite executives, businesses ranging from mid-sized to large multi-national corporations, and municipal entities. Whether counseling on compliance and risk-management or serving as litigation or trial counsel, she partners with her clients to help them meet their strategic objectives.  

Ms. Rodriguez's practice includes: advising on business or employment law exposure and compliance in contracts and operations; defending corporate and governmental entities in state and federal courts as well as administrative forums; mitigating risks in sensitive workplace issues in accordance with federal, state and local discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage & hour, and leave laws among others; providing industry-specific customized employee handbooks and policies; employment and severance/separation agreements including confidentiality and restrictive covenants; and, conducting confidential internal investigations anywhere in the United States. Ms. Rodriguez is a skilled litigator and negotiator who has obtained favorable settlements in high exposure matters in and out of court. She has significant experience serving as trial counsel in state and federal jury trials. She has also managed the defense and response to various governmental investigations including, but not limited to, the EEOC, OSHA and the U.S. Department of Labor, as well as single-plaintiff/class/collective litigation.

Ms. Rodriguez's multi-faceted legal career and experience provide her and her clients a competitive edge on matters where a broader understanding or skill set is required. Prior to launching JBR Law Group LLC, she served as General Counsel to a renewable energy company during which time she handled the majority of the company’s legal affairs, oversaw human resources, advised on compliance, negotiated business, construction, and intellectual property agreements - including international acquisitions, and defended against litigation. Her formal legal career began in a prominent Chicago-based large trial firm where she represented Fortune 500 companies, mid-sized businesses, and governmental entities in a diverse array of business, construction, employment, municipal liability, and utility matters in state and federal courts throughout Illinois and neighboring jurisdictions from 2005 - 2011. 

Ms. Rodriguez is a member of various professional associations including the American Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, and National Employment Law Council, among others. Throughout her career she has contributed as a panelist and writer on peer reviewed publications related to her practice areas and places an emphasis on mentoring those she has had the privilege of training since beginning her firm.
