As a managing partner at Peck Ritchey, LLC, Kerry R. Peck represents clients in Chicago, Illinois, in legal issues related to will contests, trust litigation, probate litigation, probate administration, estate planning, elder law, guardianship litigation, expert witness testimony and Alzheimer’s disease planning. In 2014, Mr. Peck was given the John Paul Stevens Award, the highest honor The Chicago Bar Association gives, and he has represented banks, hospitals, families, Cook County, the State of Illinois and the City of Chicago. Mr. Peck has been appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court as chair of the recently created Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Elder Justice.
After obtaining a Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law, Mr. Peck began practicing law in 1978; he is admitted to practice in Illinois and Florida. A talented author, he was involved in the process of rewriting the Illinois Elder Abuse and Neglect Act and has been published by the Chicago Bar Association Record, the American Bar Association, the Illinois Bar Journal and the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin.
Mr. Peck is a member of the Special Needs Alliance, the chair of the political action committee of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and is immediate past chair of the Illinois State Bar Association, where he is currently a member of the Elder Law Section council. A former member of the board of directors for the Alzheimer’s Association Illinois Chapter, he was also president of The Chicago Bar Association and is currently on the senior lawyer division task force on diminished capacity for the American Bar Association.
A frequent lecturer and teacher for health care professionals and attorneys around the country, Mr. Peck appears regularly in the news. He has been featured by NBC News, Justice and Law Weekly, and the International Elder Law and Policy Conference.
