Lance D. Northcutt is a partner at Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. in Waukegan, Illinois. He concentrates his practice on catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, civil rights and mass tort litigation. Since joining the firm in 2020, Mr. Northcutt has established himself as one of the firm's leading trial attorneys, recovering more than $1.1 billion on behalf of injured clients and their families. Drawing on decades of courtroom experience, he represents individuals in some of the most complex and high-stakes civil litigation matters, combining strategic advocacy with an unwavering commitment to achieving justice.

Mr. Northcutt earned his law degree from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, where he distinguished himself academically as a member of The John Marshall Law Review, a Morrissey Scholar, Editor-in-Chief of two publications and the recipient of both the Hertzog Academic Scholarship and the Kissane Award for Public Service. Before entering private practice, he served as both a Cook County prosecutor and a law enforcement officer, experiences that continue to inform his approach to litigation. Throughout his career, he has tried hundreds of cases before judges and juries, represented clients on appeal and argued matters before the Illinois Supreme Court.

In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Northcutt has dedicated more than two decades to legal education and professional leadership. He currently teaches as an adjunct professor at Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he leads the school's International Comparative Advocacy Program in Dublin, Ireland, in partnership with The Honorable Society of King's Inns, the Bar Council of Ireland and the Irish Supreme Court.

Mr. Northcutt is an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, Illinois State Bar Association, American Association for Justice, American Bar Association and Chicago Bar Association. Beyond his legal practice, he serves on the Board of Directors for the International Institute for Animal Law and volunteers with Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy (FSMA).

Mr. Northcutt has earned national recognition for securing groundbreaking verdicts and settlements in some of Illinois' most significant civil cases. He was one of the lead attorneys in a landmark $363 million toxic tort verdict on behalf of a woman who developed breast cancer after exposure to ethylene oxide emissions, which at the time was the largest jury verdict awarded to an individual plaintiff in Illinois history. He also played a leading role in negotiating a global settlement for more than 800 additional victims.

Through his record-setting verdicts, leadership within the legal profession and dedication to mentoring future trial lawyers, Mr. Northcutt has established himself as one of Illinois' premier civil trial attorneys. His combination of courtroom skill, legal scholarship and commitment to client advocacy continues to distinguish him as a trusted advocate for individuals and families facing life-changing injuries and losses.
