Louis C. Cairo

A senior partner at Chicago, Illinois-based GWC Injury Lawyers LLC, Louis C. Cairo divides his practice between workers' compensation matters and personal injury and wrongful death litigation. He has earned the respect of his fellow professionals for his successful track record and high degree of ethics, as evidenced by his receipt of an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell and a 10.0 "Superb" peer review rating through Avvo. Mr. Cairo is admitted to practice before all Illinois state courts.

In his personal injury and wrongful death litigation practice, Mr. Cairo represents people throughout the greater Chicago metropolitan area and across the state who have suffered economic and noneconomic losses due to the negligence of other parties. The cases that he has handled have arisen out of incidents involving premises liability, truck and other motor vehicle crashes, pedestrian knockdowns, defective products and construction site accidents. In this regard, Mr. Cairo has been able to obtain several sizable settlements and jury awards on behalf of his clients.

Mr. Cairo also provides assistance to people who have been injured on the job or who have contracted an occupational disease and who are seeking their rightful benefits under their employer's insurance coverage. His work includes helping ensure that the required claim documentation contains all required information and that it is filed on a timely basis. Mr. Cairo also provides advocacy at subsequent hearings in the event that the claim is disputed or denied.

Mr. Cairo is a 1980 graduate of Marquette University, where he majored in marketing and received a Bachelor of Science. His legal education came at Loyola University Chicago School of Law, and he was awarded his Juris Doctor in 1983. He is an active participant in several legal organizations, including the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association.
