Maria Merman

A judicious advocate for her clients in all the challenges and obstacles they face, Maria Merman maintains consistency in her eminent representation, no matter the complexity of the case she takes on. At Ankin Law in Chicago, Illinois, she is well-equipped to handle serious personal injury matters, ranging from motor vehicle accidents, construction injuries and slip-and-falls, as well as medical malpractice and nursing home abuse.

Ms. Merman completed her undergraduate studies in 2008, graduating with her Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and history from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and during her time there, she was a member of the National Political Science Honor Society and Pi Sigma Alpha, and was included in the dean’s list. She went on to attend the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, where she took part in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition and emerged as the quarterfinalist at the Dean Fred F. Herzog Moot Court Competition.

Prior to receiving her Juris Doctor in 2012, Ms. Merman was the recipient of the Health Law Student Award by the American Society of Law and the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for achieving the highest grades in conflicts of law. She was also a member of the Decalogue Society and was a Decalogue Foundation Scholar.

Ms. Merman obtained her license to practice law the same year she graduated from law school, and since then, she has been a beacon of hope for her clients, helping them get the compensation they deserve by pursuing every available legal avenue and fighting tooth and nail for their futures and those of their loved ones. Within her legal community, she stays actively involved in prominent legal organizations, such as the Chicago Bar Association, to progress the standard of client care in her industry to even greater heights.
