Matthew A. Kirsh

Matthew A. Kirsh is a family law attorney and mediator at Kirsh & Associates in Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Kirsh has over 30 years of legal experience and handles family law matters such as divorce, custody and child support, representing clients in downtown Chicago and the Chicagoland metropolitan area.

Committed to achieving the best possible results for his clients, Mr. Kirsh uses alternative dispute resolution methods such as mediation to help guide his clients to the best resolution to their issues. He is an adept at negotiating successful outcomes, and when negotiation fails to achieve the desired result, he is prepared to litigate on behalf of his clients in a courtroom.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Kirsh has received recognition for his accomplishments in the legal profession by groups including Leading Lawyers. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the vice chair of the Illinois State Bar Association Family Law Section Council and an editor of the Illinois State Bar Association Family Law Section newsletter.

Additionally, Mr. Kirsh is a former investigator for the Chicago Bar Association Judicial Evaluation Committee and has served as chairperson of the Chicago Bar Association Young Lawyers Section Family Law Committee. Prior to founding Kirsh & Associates, he spent over a decade in private practice with another Chicago-based law firm. He has concentrated his practice exclusively on family law since 1992.

Mr. Kirsh received a bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and earned his law degree from the University of Illinois College of Law. He holds a license to practice law before all Illinois state courts.
