Megan O'Connor

One of her most notable successes in this area came from her serving as second chair in a case involving the death of a toddler resulting from the negligence of social workers. In this case, she helped secure $45 million in compensation, which stands as one of the largest verdicts ever awarded in the state.

In addition, Ms. O’Connor has helped secure multimillion-dollar awards for victims of defective products, foster care abuse, failures to diagnose and other preventable tragedies, earning a spot in the Top 100 Verdicts by The National Law Journal. Furthermore, she was listed among the “Top 40 Attorneys Under Forty to Watch” in Illinois by the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin. More valuably, she has earned top rankings from her peers along with numerous testimonials and referrals from her satisfied clients.  

Licensed to practice in Illinois since 2012, Ms. O’Connor obtained her Juris Doctor from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2012, and she is a cum laude 2005 graduate of North Central College in Naperville, Illinois, with a degree in philosophy. A dean's list scholar in law school, she received a CALI Excellence for the Future Award in transnational dispute resolution, and she earned top oral advocate at the National Moot Court Competition for Child Welfare and Adoption Law.

Ms. O’Connor was licensed to practice law in Illinois in 2012 and later before the United States District Courts for the Northern, Central and Southern Districts of Illinois. She is a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association – Women’s Caucus and the American Association for Justice. She also served as the Committee Chair of the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois. Furthermore, she regularly presents at seminars and conferences on a wide range of topics.
