Michael D. Walsh

An attorney at the Demidchik Law Firm, Michael D. Walsh focuses his practice on criminal law. Based in the national firm’s Chicago office, he represents clients throughout the greater metropolitan area and other parts of Illinois. Admitted to practice in Illinois since 1980, Mr. Walsh is also admitted to practice before both the General and the Trial Bar of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois as well as before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit, and he has additionally appeared pro hac vice before other state and federal trial courts around the country.

Mr. Walsh’s client base is comprised of people who have been accused by the state or federal government with having committed misdemeanors or felonies. The types of cases that he has worked on during his distinguished career have included driving under the influence, domestic violence, theft, money laundering, fraud, drug possession and distribution, homicide, robbery, sex crimes, and bribery, among others. Mr. Walsh’s clients have benefitted from his experience in being able to obtain positive results on their behalf, through acquittals, case dismissals and the negotiation of favorable plea bargain agreements with the prosecution.

In addition to his criminal law experience, Mr. Walsh has also handled a variety of civil litigation matters, representing both plaintiffs and defendants. As an undergraduate, he attended Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, where he majored in history and earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1977. Mr. Walsh then went on to pursue his legal studies at DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, and in 1980, he was awarded his Juris Doctor.
