Details
Attorney Michael Mazek founded the Mazek Law Group in Chicago, Illinois, in 2009 out of a desire to offer high-quality, affordable legal counsel to residents in and around the city. With a passion for practicing law, Mr. Mazek tirelessly dedicates his services to clients who need legal assistance in the following areas:
• Real estate law and transactions • Estate planning and probate • Civil litigation
After graduating from University of Illinois at Chicago in 2000, Mr. Mazek received his Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School in 2004, and he has been practicing in the state since 2006. Throughout his successful career, Mr. Mazek has gained a reputation for aggressive legal representation.
Mr. Mazek is a almunus of The John Marshall Law School Fair Housing Legal Clinic. As part of his service to that organization, he was instrumental in a successful appeal of a landmark housing discrimination case involving Section 8 vouchers. He also regularly contributes to the Norton Annual Survey of Bankruptcy Law, and he conducts presentations for both real estate and legal professionals. As recognition for his success and dedication to his practice, Super Lawyers selected him for its Rising Stars list in 2016.
As the son of Polish immigrants, Mr. Mazek speaks Polish as well as English, and he holds a special regard for assisting immigrants and non-native English speakers with their legal needs. As a teenager, Mr. Mazek managed rental properties for his parents, so he developed a unique perspective with real estate law. Furthermore, he saw firsthand the inequities that exist for immigrants seeking affordable housing, and that experience shaped his desire to use his legal knowledge and practice to help those in need.
