Michael R. Taege

Michael R. Taege founded the Taege Law Offices in November 2014, and since that time he has focused most of his practice on family law matters. He also has extensive experience in estate planning and business law. Based in Chicago, Illinois, Mr. Taege provides knowledgeable representation to clients throughout the greater metropolitan area, including Cook, DuPage, Lake, Will and Kane counties. He has been admitted to practice before all Illinois state courts since 2014.

Mr. Taege’s family law clients are primarily area residents who are seeing their marriages breaking down and who are thus having to deal with such issues as spousal and child support, child custody and visitation, and the division of marital assets and debts. In addition to representing them in court, he has often spearheaded the negotiation of comprehensive settlement agreements that address these matters. Mr. Taege has also helped clients whose marriages have already been legally dissolved and who are now attempting to have existing parenting or support court orders enforced or modified.

Mr. Taege has additionally represented entrepreneurs who are thinking about launching a new venture. He initially works with them to determine the most appropriate form of legal entity that it should operate under, and once it has been formed, he provides advice and counsel on regulatory compliance and prepares and reviews business contracts and employment agreements. In his estate planning practice, Mr. Taege helps clients with matters involving the protection and distribution of their assets through wills, trusts, powers of attorney and advance medical directives. 

After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Mr. Taege pursued his legal education at The John Marshall Law School, part of UIC. While he was there, he served on The John Marshall Law Review before graduating in 2014.
