An academic scholar, Mr. Schelhammer's journey with the firm began during his undergraduate years at Marquette University, where he spent his summers and winters as a law clerk. His passion for law led him to join the firm full-time after graduation, all while pursuing his law degree at Atlanta's John Marshall Law School in the evenings.

Mr. Schelhammer's dedication and talent were recognized early on, earning him spots in prestigious moot court competitions such as the Ellen A. (Nell) Hennessy Employee Benefits Moot Court Competition and the Duberstein National Bankruptcy Moot Court Competition. His legal acumen was further honed through an externship with a justice in the Illinois Appellate Court.

Throughout his clerkship, Mr. Schelhammer played a pivotal role in numerous complex jury trials, showcasing his ability to handle intricate legal challenges with finesse. His deep-rooted connection to the Chicago Journeymen Plumbers’ and Technical Engineers Local Union 130 UA reflects his upbringing in a family with strong union ties, and he proudly represents many union members in the building trades.

Beyond his legal endeavors, Mr. Schelhammer contributes to the community as a member of the Board of Directors of the Young Irish Fellowship Club of Chicago and the Chicago St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee.
