Paul Joseph Connery, a dedicated partner at Levin & Perconti in Chicago, Illinois, has carved a niche for himself in the legal world by passionately advocating for victims and their families in civil court. His practice is centered around personal injury, medical malpractice and nursing home abuse cases, where he strives to bring justice to those who have been wronged.
Hailing from Downers Grove, where he still resides, Mr. Connery embarked on his academic journey at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, earning a bachelor's degree in economics with a minor in political science in 2010. He further honed his legal acumen at Loyola University Chicago School of Law, obtaining his Juris Doctor in 2013, along with a Certificate of Trial Advocacy. Since then, he has been a licensed attorney in Illinois.
Mr. Connery's legal career took root in the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. During law school, he clerked in the Traffic and Felony Trial Divisions, gaining invaluable experience by litigating over 100 motions and bench trials as a 7-11 Law Clerk. He then transitioned to the role of assistant state’s attorney in the Appeals Division, where he crafted over 25 appellate briefs and presented three oral arguments before the First District Appellate Court.
Furthermore, Mr. Connery’s journey continued in the Narcotics Prosecutions Bureau, where he initially contributed to a deferred prosecution program in Maywood and played a pivotal role in launching the Chicago Prostitution and Trafficking Intervention Court program. He later managed a felony narcotics courtroom at the 26th and California Courthouse before advancing to the Special Prosecutions Division of the Narcotics Bureau.
After a stint in civil litigation at a defense firm, where he defended product liability and toxic tort claims, Mr. Connery realized his true calling lay in representing plaintiffs. His dedication and skill were recognized when he was named a Leading Lawyers: Emerging Lawyer in 2025. Beyond his legal practice, he is committed to social causes, serving on the board of directors for Life Span, an organization dedicated to supporting victims of domestic and sexual abuse.
