At Gill Ports Hoste LLC, Chicago attorney Peter D. Hoste has spent his legal career representing injured people in medical malpractice, wrongful death and personal injury cases. Licensed to practice law in Illinois since 1997, Peter combines decades of experience with a client-first approach, guiding people through some of the most challenging moments of their lives. His dedication has resulted in more than $250 million in verdicts and settlements for his clients, reflecting both his skill in the courtroom and his determination to achieve justice for those he represents.
A proud alumnus of Loyola University of Chicago School of Law, Mr. Hoste's competence spans a wide array of practice areas, including medical negligence, trucking/transportation accidents, defective products, sexual abuse and wrongful death litigation. His dedication to his clients and his exceptional legal acumen have earned him repeated recognition, including being twice honored by the National Law Journal for achieving one of the largest jury verdicts in the United States.
Beyond his courtroom successes, Mr. Hoste is deeply committed to the legal community. He has served on the Alumni Board of Governors for Loyola University of Chicago School of Law and on the Board of Managers for the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, and is a Fellow of the Illinois Bar Foundation. He has been a member of and contributed to Continuing Legal Education seminars for the Illinois State Bar Association, the Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Association for Justice. Rated as "Superb" on Avvo, Mr. Hoste has also served as a guest lecturer at the University of Illinois Law School.
Mr. Hoste’s accolades include being named one of "40 Illinois Attorneys Under Forty to Watch" by the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin in 2007, and he has consistently been recognized as an Illinois "Leading Lawyer" by the Law Bulletin Publishing Company every year since 2003. With his former legal partner, Tom Leahy, in 2008 he established the Leahy & Hoste Scholarship at Loyola University of Chicago School of Law, supporting the next generation of legal minds.
