Robert B. Buchanan

As the principal attorney at his law firm, Robert “Bobby” Buchanan helps medium- to high-asset people in the Chicago, Illinois, area through their divorces or other family law issues. He believes in conflict resolution whenever possible but is fully prepared to litigate child custody and other issues in court whenever necessary.

Mr. Buchanan obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of California – Berkeley and then earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology. Upon graduation from law school, he established Buchanan Law Group. At his firm, he practices all types of family law, such as divorce, child custody and support, fathers’ and grandparents’ rights, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and modifications and enforcement actions.

Known for his dedication to client service, Mr. Buchanan received the 10 Best Attorney Client Satisfaction award from the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys in 2019. He was selected for inclusion in Illinois Super Lawyers the following year, and Expertise.com named him to its Best Family Lawyers in Chicago list in 2022.

Mr. Buchanan makes his home in Lincoln Park. When not spending time with his wife and son, he enjoys running and jogging on the lake path.
