Details
Focusing his practice exclusively on divorce and other family law matters, Ross S. Levey is a partner at Yavitz & Levey, LLP. From the firm’s offices in Chicago, Illinois, he represents people throughout the greater metropolitan area. As an undergraduate, Mr. Levey majored in business administration at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and received a Bachelor of Science with honors in 1990. He then went on to pursue his legal education at DePaul University College of Law in Chicago and was awarded his Juris Doctor in 1993. Mr. Levey has been admitted to practice before all Illinois state courts since that year.
The majority of Mr. Levey’s clients are area residents whose marriages have irretrievably broken down and who are now wrestling with such issues as child custody and visitation, spousal and child support, and the division of marital assets and debts. He is often able to help them come to an accord on some or all of these matters through negotiations, but when then is not possible, he advocates vigorously on their behalf before family court judges. Mr. Levey’s other family law experience has included paternity establishment and disputes as well as the preparation and review of prenuptial agreements, and he additionally seeks the enforcement of or modifications to existing support and parenting court orders for those of his clients who have already had their marriages legally dissolved.
Mr. Levey has had several articles published on topics dealing with his area of practice. A fellow in the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, he is a member of other professional groups as well, including the Family Law Section of the Illinois State Bar Association. Highly regarded by his colleagues, he has received a Distinguished* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell.
*AV®, AV Preeminent®, Martindale-Hubbell Distinguished and Martindale-Hubbell Notable are certification marks used under license in accordance with the Martindale-Hubbell certification procedures, standards and policies.
