Sahil Malhotra

Sahil Malhotra is the principal attorney of Drishti law in Chicago, Illinois, and serves businesses and startups of all sizes in myriad intellectual property (IP) law matters, helping his clients protect their innovations and ideas. From protecting logos and slogans to helping patent new inventions, he will pursue every available legal avenue to give his clients the relief they need to keep growing their businesses. He also helps protect his clients’ proprietary information, helping keep their trade secrets just that: secret.

Mr. Malhotra attended the University of Illinois College of Law, where he served as a student attorney at the Intellectual Property Clinic – helping individuals and small businesses register trademarks and argue against office actions to raise the value of their IPs. He received his Juris Doctor in 2020 and later became licensed to practice in Illinois and the District of Columbia. 

In addition to his work as a student attorney during his time at law school, Mr. Malhotra also completed an internship at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), where he helped attorneys in the evidence collection process and case analysis for many office actions. He had a clear view of how IP attorneys at the USPTO took action to either accept or reject trademark and patent applications, providing him with comprehensive practical experience to help his clients secure their work from unauthorized use in the future. 

Mr. Malhotra is active within his legal community, especially in the IP industry, and attends many conferences and seminars to further expand on his expansive legal foundation, and he uses this to help further progress the standard of client care to greater heights.
