He has successfully handled a number of appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit as well as before appeals courts in his state's 1st, 2nd and 3rd Districts. In addition, he has tried many complex family law matters and other civil cases, and he has received designation as a Hull Partners Fellow.

Among his other honors, Mr. Hamann has earned an Emerging Lawyers designation and consistent recognition from his peers as being among the top 5% of lawyers in his region. He has also received the Award for Excellence in Pro Bono Service from the Judges of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
