Details

Founder of Cavanagh Law Group, Timothy J. Cavanagh handles cases of wrongful death, medical malpractice, motor vehicle accidents and other personal injuries. The rights of the people of Cook County and Chicagoland are his priority anytime an injury has occurred because of the negligence of another party, and he works to secure compensation for the injured.

A member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals and the Trial and General Bars of United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Mr. Cavanagh has also been named to the President’s Club of the American Association for Justice. He has obtained many record-breaking settlements, including a verdict that was recognized by the National Law Journal when his client was awarded $55 million.

At John Carroll University, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1984, then moved on to obtain a Juris Doctor from Illinois Institute of Technology Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1987. A compassionate individual committed to giving back to the community, he is also a member of the Irish Fellowship Club of Chicago’s Board of Directors, the Board of Regents of Mercy Home for Boys & Girls and the Western Golf Association Evans Scholars Foundation’s director.

Mr. Cavanagh’s successful cases include a $10 million settlement for a tractor-trailer truck crash, a $14 million settlement for a medical malpractice case and a $9.75 million settlement for a trucking accident. When clients are injured and facing an uncertain future, his goal is to secure compensation for their medical costs, loss of income and any other extra expense that may occur because of the injury.
