Christopher W. Byron

Attorney Christopher W. Byron is the managing partner of Byron Carlson Petri & Kalb, LLC, in Edwardsville, Illinois. Mr. Byron practices in the areas of agribusiness, business law, contract law, estate planning and real estate, and works with clients throughout Madison County, surrounding Southern Illinois and the St. Louis Metro East.

Mr. Byron has more than 20 years of litigation experience. He has been admitted to practice in Illinois and Missouri state courts since 1996 and is licensed before the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of Illinois and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Byron has litigated a diverse range of cases involving complex issues, including banking creditors’ rights, coal rights, eminent domain, insurance, intellectual property, mineral rights, personal injury and more. He has handled both individual and class action lawsuits and works closely with each of his clients.

In addition to running his law firm, Mr. Byron is active in the Illinois and Missouri legal communities. He is a member of the St. Clair County Bar Association, the Madison County Bar Association, the Missouri Bar and the American Bar Association. He also belongs to the Commercial Law League of America and the Illinois State Bar Association, serving as a council member of the association’s Agricultural Law section.

Mr. Byron earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois and received his law degree from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law. During law school, he had the honor of being named pretrial moot court champion.
