Ms. Hamilton has extensive experience handling appeals in the Illinois Appellate Courts, the Illinois Supreme Court, and in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th and 8th Circuits. In all cases, Ms. Hamilton provides invaluable counsel and support to her clients while zealously advocating on their behalf to help them achieve the most favorable outcomes possible for their unique circumstances.
A Presidential Scholarship recipient, Ms. Hamilton earned her undergraduate degrees in economics, business administration and communication from Augustana College, where she graduated summa cum laude. She then served as a White House intern and accepted a presidential appointment with the U.S. Department of State, where she worked closely with Secretary Condoleezza Rice in the Bureau of Public Affairs.
Following this, Ms. Hamilton attended both the Northern Illinois University Graduate School of Business and the Northern Illinois University College of Law, graduating from each, magna cum laude, with a Master of Business Administration and Juris Doctor respectively. A full merit and academic scholarship recipient in law school, she was heavily involved with the National Moot Court Competition, and she served as assistant editor of the Northern Illinois University College of Law Review. She also received the Constitutional Law Excellence Award for her exceptional academic achievements.
Ms. Hamilton is admitted to practice law in Illinois, the U.S. District Court for the Northern, Central, and Southern Districts of Illinois, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 8th Circuit. Highly active in her legal community, she is a Director of the Appellate Lawyers Association (representing the 2nd District), the Legal Ethics Committee Chair for the Kane County Bar Association, and the Appellate Section Chair for the DuPage Bar Association. She serves on the Judicial Evaluation Committee and the Women in the Law Committee for the Illinois State Bar Association, among her other professional affiliations.
