Daniel F. Konicek

Since co-founding the firm, with offices in both Chicago and Geneva, Mr. Konicek has focused his efforts on representing the interests of individuals, professionals and business clients facing complex litigation. He has tried over 100 cases to jury verdict, prosecuting and defending a variety of claims. Mr. Konicek has tried to jury verdict cases throughout Illinois, in Colorado and Wisconsin.  The jury trials have included personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, legal malpractice, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty and felony criminal matters including a murder trial.  In 2019 Mr. Konicek settled an $18,000,000 professional liability case that was filed in Cook County against a major law firm.  That same year he tried a medical malpractice case on behalf of a seriously injured client and received a jury verdict in the amount of $10,050,000.  In one of the first cases tried to a jury following COVID restrictions, Mr. Konicek set a record verdict in Whiteside County for his client, obtaining a verdict in the amount of $5,736,000.  The case involved a business dispute between two owners of a closely held corporation.  His jury trial experience in both prosecuting and defending professional liability claims gives him valuable insight from a plaintiff and defendant perspective. His clients have benefited from this unique trial experience and success, allowing them to maximize recovery or minimize exposure. Mr. Konicek began his legal career in 1990 after earning his law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law with honors. In addition to his approval to practice in Illinois' state courts, the U.S. District Courts in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan and Connecticut, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 4th, 7th and Federal Circuits, and the U.S. Supreme Court have also issued approvals for him to practice in their courtrooms.

Thanks to his excellent record and reputation as a leading lawyer in Illinois, Mr. Konicek has earned a number of awards and honors, including membership in the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. This prestigious group limits membership to those attorneys who have obtained settlements or verdicts in the multi millions of dollars for a client.
