Daniel T. Smart is an associate attorney at Dudley & Lake located in Libertyville, Illinois. He is a personal injury attorney, passionate about defending the rights of those who have been harmed because of another party’s negligence. His practice areas include:

Mr. Smart has a bachelor’s degree in political science and informatics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He went on to pursue his legal education at the Valparaiso University Law School, where he earned his Juris Doctor. While in law school, he was a member of the American Bar Association’s Law Student Division, the Illinois State Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division and the Sports and Entertainment Law Association. 

Mr. Smart clerked at the Illinois Attorney General’s Office Consumer Fraud Bureau and also clerked for the Honorable Judge Diane Kavadias Schneider at the Superior Court for Lake County in Indiana. He joined Dudley & Lake as a law clerk in 2013 and became an associate attorney in 2014. 

An active affiliate with numerous legal associations, Mr. Smart is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the Lake County Bar Association and the American Association for Justice. He also served as a pro bono law clerk at the Cook County State's Attorney’s Office Juvenile Justice Bureau. 

Recognized for his valuable work in the legal field, Mr. Smart has been named to the list of Leading Lawyers’ Emerging Lawyer in 2022. He has also received a “Good” rating on Avvo for his remarkable legal contributions for the past seven years in the field of law.
