Dan Aler

Daniel J. Aler is an associate attorney at the law firm Trapp & Geller, which has its offices located in Chicago, Illinois and Northbrook, Illinois.  He concentrates his practice exclusively on personal injury matters, including car accidents, premises liability, construction accidents, workers’ compensation, medical malpractice, wrongful death, bar fight cases, animal bites and other injury matters.

$1,655,000.00 - Mr. Aler was an integral part of the trial team that secured a settlement on behalf of the estate of a mother who was killed in a motor vehicle accident with a semi-truck;

$1,000,000.00 settlement for a 56 year old man who injured his both of his hips in a motor vehicle accident and required arthroscopic hip surgery;

$600,000.00 settlement for a man injured following a slip and fall at a super market who required knee and lower back surgery;

$475,000.00 verdict for a man in a car accident who sustained an aggravation of a pre-existing neck condition.  Mr. Aler's client had undergone 3 prior neck surgeries and the defense heavily disputed that his client sustained any new injuries.

$470,000.00 settlement for a 72 year old woman who fell down the stairs at her apartment complex due to negligently maintained handrails and lighting in the building.

$290,000.00 settlement for woman in a rear-end car accident who sustained an aggravation of a pre-existing and complicated neck condition and required physical therapy and injections;

$250,000.00 policy limits settlement for a 60 year old woman involved in a motor vehicle accident who suffered a broken finger and required surgery and pin placement in her middle finger;

$200,000.00 settlement for an 81 year old woman who was admitted to a nursing home and developed bed sores and pressure ulcers requiring the woman's family to remove her from the Defendant's nursing home and subsequent skin debridement surgeries.

$91,82302 verdict for a 55 year old woman who was attacked by a dog in an alley in Chicago who fell and broke her wrist requiring surgery.  The facts surrounding the fall and Mr. Aler’s clients’ medical treatment were heavily disputed by the defense;

$58,687.67 jury verdict in Cook County for a woman involved in a rear-end automobile accident.  The attorneys for the Defendant offered $11,300.00 to settle the case before trial.  Mr. Aler took the matter to jury verdict and obtained the entire $58,687.67 judgement on behalf of his client.

With a Bachelor of Arts degree in secondary education, Mr. Aler graduated from Bradley University.  He went on to study law at the DePaul University College of Law and obtained his Juris Doctor in 2018.  In law school, he was the recipient of the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Advanced Legal Writing. 

Early in his legal career, Mr. Aler served as an office assistant at the Illinois Attorney General's Office.  In 2018, he joined Trapp & Geller as a law clerk, and soon after he received authorization to practice law, he was made an associate attorney.

Actively associated in the legal arena, Mr. Aler holds memberships in the American Bar Association, The Chicago Bar Association and the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association.  He is also a firm believer in giving back to his community and profession in his spare time.  Mr. Aler spends his free time with his wife and young daughter and their family in friends in the Chicagoland area.
