Tondalaya N. Lloyd

Tondalaya N. Lloyd is a partner at the The Lloyd Law Firm LLC, with offices in Berlin, Wisconsin, and Oaklawn, Illinois. She works out of the Oaklawn office, representing clients in the surrounding regions and Chicagoland with the following areas of law:

·       Real estate: Condominiums and cooperatives, landlord/tenant disputes and short sale 

·       Family law: Spousal support, child support, custody and visitation, divorce, domestic violence, paternity and prenuptial agreements 

·       Estate planning and probate: Guardianships and conservatorships, living wills, power of attorney, trusts, and probate and estate administration

She also deals with intellectual property law matters such as trademark and copyright registration.

Ms. Lloyd is an active member of the legal community, maintaining professional affiliations with several prominent legal associations such as the Black Women Lawyers’ Association of Greater Chicago, the American Bar Association, The Chicago Bar Association, and the Illinois State Bar Association. She is also involved in her local community by being a part of the Cook County Bar Association and the Women’s Bar Association of Illinois.

Obtaining her bachelor’s degree in Spanish from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Ms. Lloyd pursued her M.B.A. at the Keller Graduate School of Management. She then earned her Juris Doctor from the Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School and has been licensed to practice in Illinois and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois since 2014. A dedicated attorney with a wealth of legal knowledge, she holds a “Good” rating on Avvo. 

During law school, Ms. Lloyd was a dean’s list student and the president of the Weekend Law Society. She was honored as the Top 10 Oral Advocates in the Intra Moot Court Competition and chosen to be a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. As a law student, she also served as a legal extern at the Public Building Commission of Chicago.

Prior to becoming a partner at her current firm, Ms. Lloyd worked as an investment compliance officer at the Illinois State Board of Investment. Moreover, she gained extensive experience in financial transactions and regulations at the Illinois Institute of Technology, the Bank of America and the Chicago Board Options Exchange.
