Jessica L. Malmquist

Principle and founding member of Greenwich Law Group, LLC, Jessica L. Malmquist is a skilled attorney serving the Chicago land area. She is well-known for her skills in family law using all conflict resolution methods including litigation, mediation, and the Collaborative process. Ms. Malmquist represents people in need of assistance during the family law process (divorce and paternity) and with decisions regarding parenting time, decision making, child support, maintenance, and division of assets.  Ms. Malmquist's financial background enables her to transition high net-worth families and those with complex financial estates. 

Ms. Malmquist is a confident and empathetic attorney and with the tenacity, communication skills, and knowledge to deal with the judiciary and opposing counsel, providing excellent results for her clients.  Although prepared to effectively litigate, Ms. Malmquist strongly believes using alternative dispute resolution strategies, especially mediation and collaborative law, can prove to be effective in retaining control of the marriage dissolution, maintain privacy, and reduce court involvement. 

Drawing on her experience from actively litigating for almost two decades, Ms. Malmquist understands the importance of a well-crafted financial plan during transitions in person’s life. She ensures to involve her clients throughout the legal process providing realistic and creative solutions to themselves and their family, ensuring that each client's specific issues are addressed.  Ms. Malmquist believes an effective attorney must continue to improve their skills to represent and advocate for her clients attending numerous continuing education programs a year.  She has presented before various bar associations and the Illinois Psychological Association on a variety of family law related topic including transgender rights, Collaborative Law, and the relationship between family law and estate planning. 

Ms. Malmquist received her Juris Doctor from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 2003 and later obtained her Master of Law degree in International Commercial Law and Arbitration (with distinction) from the University of Edinburgh Law School in 2005.  Ms. Malmquist attended Beloit College and graduated with a degree in Economics & Management and Psychology in 1998.  Ms. Malmquist began her career working in finance both domestically and in the United Kingdom (London and Edinburgh).

Ms. Malmquist holds memberships in several organizations, including the Illinois Bar Association, American Bar Association, Lake County Bar Association, Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC) International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (IACP), and Collaborative Divorce Illinois (CDI). Ms. Malmquist was a Board member of Collaborative Divorce Illinois from 2012-2020 and President in 2019.

When not practicing law, Ms. Malmquist is an avid chef and gardener who loves to travel and spend time with her family.
