Cary Dohman

Cary Dohman is a locally and nationally recognized DUI defense attorney who focuses his entire practice on DUI defense. He is recognized as one of the “10 Best DUI/DWI Attorneys” in Illinois by the American Institute of DUI/DWI Attorneys – an award he has received for eight consecutive years, from 2017 through 2026.

Under Cary’s guidance, the Dohman Law Group is recognized as a Top 10 Law Firm in DUI Defense by the American Association of Attorney Advocates. Additionally, Cary was recognized as a “Top 10 Criminal Defense Attorney Under 40” by the National Academy of Criminal Defense Attorneys on numerous occasions.

Locally, Cary was honored by the prestigious SuperLawyers Magazine as a “Rising Star” in the field of DUI for the last eight years (2017-2025). In 2024, Cary was one of just six lawyers given that designation for DUI in the entire state of Illinois.

Cary graduated cum laude from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago after majoring in journalism & history at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He quickly realized that all he wanted as a lawyer was to help fight to protect people’s rights.

Cary began working at Dohman Law immediately out of law school and was promoted to Partner at the firm in 2019. He has been the owner and partner since taking over in 2019.
