Catherine Brukalo

As an attorney at Cooper Trachtenberg Law Group, LLC, based in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, Catherine Brukalo provides comprehensive legal representation to individuals and families navigating complex and often emotionally charged family law matters. She serves as a child’s representative and guardian ad litem in both Cook County and DuPage County, advocating for the best interests of children in high-conflict cases. In Cook County, she also serves as a parenting coordinator, assisting divorcing couples with minor children in resolving disputes and fostering cooperative co-parenting relationships.

In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Brukalo is deeply involved in the legal community. She is admitted to practice in the state of Illinois and before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. She maintains active membership in several professional organizations, including the Illinois State Bar Association, the Advocates Society, where she has served as co-chair of the Speaker’s Bureau Committee, and The Chicago Bar Association, where she contributes to the Judicial Evaluation Committee. She is also involved with the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and the McHenry County Bar Association.

Ms. Brukalo graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern University in 2000, followed by a Master of Arts degree from University College London in 2001. She later obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law in 2007. A native Polish speaker, she is a regular contributor to a Chicago-based Polish-language newspaper, writing on legal topics. She also serves on the boards of local community organizations, reflecting her ongoing commitment to civic engagement.
