Scott Barber

Scott Barber is a founding partner of Barber Law Offices LLC, based in Schaumburg, Illinois, where he provides legal representation to individuals and families in a range of complex legal matters. His practice focuses primarily on personal injury and family law, with an emphasis on helping clients navigate financially and emotionally challenging circumstances with careful legal guidance and strong advocacy.

Mr. Barber represents clients in family law matters involving divorce, high-asset and complex divorce proceedings, division of assets and debt, investment division, adoption, child custody and visitation. He also assists clients with prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, orders of protection, domestic violence matters and child relocation cases. His experience includes addressing the financial and personal considerations that often accompany complex family disputes.

In his personal injury practice, Mr. Barber represents individuals who have suffered injuries in car and truck accidents, slip-and-fall incidents, medical malpractice cases and workers' compensation matters. He also handles cases involving child sexual abuse, advocating for individuals and families seeking accountability and legal remedies for serious harm.

Mr. Barber earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Arizona State University in 1980. He went on to receive his Juris Doctor from Valparaiso University School of Law in 1984. That same year, he was admitted to practice law in Illinois and later gained admission to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Mr. Barber is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Illinois Workers' Compensation Lawyers Association, the American Association for Justice and the Northwest Suburban Bar Association. He served as president of the Northwest Suburban Bar Association from 2009 to 2010.
