Tara R. Devine

Tara R. Devine is a partner at Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. in Waukegan, Illinois, where she concentrates her practice on personal injury, nursing home negligence, wrongful death, medical malpractice and product liability litigation. Since joining the firm in 2004, she has become one of its most accomplished trial attorneys, making history as the firm's first female partner in 2011. In 2018, she was appointed managing partner of the firm's Lake County office, where she continues to lead with a commitment to exceptional client service and results-driven advocacy. Licensed to practice in both Illinois and Wisconsin, she has recovered more than $325 million on behalf of injured individuals and their families.

Ms. Devine earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Illinois before receiving her Juris Doctor from Marquette University. She is admitted to practice before the Illinois and Wisconsin state courts, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin. 

Throughout her career, Ms. Devine has built an impressive record of success in catastrophic injury and wrongful death litigation. She has secured numerous multimillion-dollar verdicts and settlements involving medical malpractice, personal injury and product liability claims. Among her most significant accomplishments, she was a member of the trial team that obtained a record-setting $148 million jury verdict on behalf of a dancer who was paralyzed when a pedestrian shelter collapsed at O'Hare International Airport. The verdict remains the highest compensatory award ever granted to an individual plaintiff in Illinois history.

Beyond the courtroom, Ms. Devine is deeply committed to advancing the legal profession and serving her community. She serves on the Board of Managers of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and has been a featured speaker at the organization's educational seminars. She is also an active member of the American Association for Justice, the Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association and the State Bar of Wisconsin. 

Ms. Devine's accomplishments have earned widespread recognition from both her peers and respected legal publications.
