Details

Jennifer Howe focuses her practice on family law cases including divorce, paternity, child support, custody (now known as the allocation of parental responsibilities), parenting time (formerly visitation), and enforcement and modifications of court orders. Jennifer practices primarily in Cook, DuPage, and Kane Counties, and she will accept matters in Will County on a discretionary basis. She is also on the Cook County Domestic Relations Division’s list of court-certified mediators and provides private and court-appointed mediation services.

Every year from 2018 - 2024, Jennifer was nominated by her peers and selected to the Super Lawyers' Illinois Rising Stars list. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this honor.

Jennifer has worked in the area of family law for over 17 years. She began her legal career in 2007 as a legal assistant working with family law attorneys. In 2011, she entered law school and continued to work full time while obtaining her law degree. In June 2015, she obtained her Juris Doctorate from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago, Illinois. She frequently made the Dean’s List and she received the Dean’s Scholarship from 2011 – 2014.

Jennifer represents her clients in the manner best suited to the goals of each individual client. She has experience in all types of cases, from amicable, expeditious, cost-effective matters to highly litigious cases. She is comfortable negotiating a settlement agreement or litigating a case in court, and she values her ability to communicate and work with her clients to achieve the best possible result during a difficult time. Jennifer has an eye for detail, a straightforward approach, and always strives to meet her client’s expectations.  Jennifer's mediation skills help her to work with parties who want to avoid litigation and court intervention and reach an agreement amicably and quickly.

Jennifer is a member of the DuPage County Bar Association and Illinois State Bar Association. She gives back to the community by volunteering for the domestic relations judges at the DuPage County and Cook County courthouses to help those that cannot afford an attorney.
