Bradley Young

Bradley Young is a partner at Unsell, Schattnik & Phillips, P.C., in Wood River, Illinois. Born and raised in Flora, Clay County, he has a deep understanding of the values, lifestyle and legal needs of Southern Illinois residents. His practice covers a wide range of areas, including personal injury claims arising from car accidents, slips and falls, dog bites, catastrophic injuries, and workers’ compensation cases. He also assists clients with probate litigation, estates, wills, powers of attorney, municipal and insurance law, and traffic violations. 

Known for his thorough preparation and commitment to his clients, Mr. Young strives to deliver practical solutions and strong advocacy in every matter he handles. He earned both his bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, graduating summa cum laude from the Southern Illinois University School of Law in 2016. While in law school, he was named to the dean’s list and inducted into the Order of the Barristers for his outstanding advocacy skills.

Mr. Young joined Unsell, Schattnik & Phillips, P.C., as an associate attorney in 2016 and became a partner in 2023. Since the start of his career, he has litigated numerous cases, focusing on personal injury and workers’ compensation matters. He also defends municipalities, law enforcement agencies and their insurers in complex civil rights litigation. His work includes representing clients in state and federal courts and achieving favorable outcomes at both the trial and appellate levels, including decisions from the United States Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit.

Active in the legal community, Mr. Young is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Madison County Bar Association. He continues to build his reputation as a trusted and results-driven advocate for individuals, businesses and public entities throughout Southern Illinois.
