Details
An experienced litigator, Kendra G. Gjerdingen is the chair of Appellate Law Group for Mallor Grodner LLP, serving the state of Indiana. Concentrating her practice on the areas of family and appellate law, she has experience in jurisdictional, interstate and international custody disputes, Hague Convention cases, appeals and civil litigation. In addition to her courtroom experience in interstate and international parental custody issues, she routinely assists her fellow practitioners and members of the judiciary in dealing with the inherent complexities of such cases.
An advocate of alternative dispute resolution, Ms. Gjerdingen is a registered Family Law Mediator and is certified as a Family Law Specialist by the Family Law Certification Board. This certification provides her with a keen and nuanced perspective of family law, and she firmly believes in minimizing conflict in order for all parties to be best served. She is also on the council of the Indiana State Bar Association's Family and Juvenile Law Section, and she previously served as chair of the ISBA's Appellate Practice Section. In addition to her ISBA membership, she is a member of both the American Bar Association and the Monroe County Bar Association.
After earning her B.A. from the University of Iowa in 1972, Ms. Gjerdingen attended Minnesota's William Mitchell College of Law, where she served as editor of the William Mitchell Law Review. She earned her J.D., cum laude, from William Mitchell College of Law in 1978 and later received an MBA in Finance from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business in 1990. She received the Indiana Bar Foundation's Pro Bono Publico Award in 2005 in recognition of her commitment to universal access to justice in her community.
